Defect on SBB Palèzeiux-Romont line leads to delays Dienstag, 17. April 2001 / 10:18 Uhr
Bern – Rail traffic along the SBB Palèzieux-Romont line was paralysed Tuesday morning due to a technical defect. Trains travelling the route were re-directed on to the Payerne-Palèzieux and Neuchâtel-Biel-Olten lines.
The defect, which caused delays of up to 40 minutes, was caused by electrical interference during the transfer of the railway caternary on a locomotive from the series RH 460. An SBB spokesperson said that such a problem only crops up when using this very modern type of locomotive.
